TellgenplexTM is a technical based on suspension bead array which integrates PCR,beads coated hybridization, flow cytometry, lasers and digital signal processing. Based on those proven and optimized technology, target HPV DNA-specific probes can be coated on the surface of spectrally addressable 5.6 μm polystyrene beads. As the beads are internally labeled with a ratio of two spectrally distinct fluorophores, the bead lots are assignable to class-specific HPV subtypes. Mixtures of different bead suspensions can be used in the same well of a 96-well plate format, allowing for multiplex analysis with theoretically the same, if not improved, sensitivity and selectivity of ELISA.
For end detection, the reacted beads are measured for spectral address by a red laser, and the surface excitation fluorescence and subsequent analyte concentration is assessed using a green laser. Groundbreaking developments in the applications of this technical promote HPV typing to a new generation with high-throughput, high specific and sensitivity in future. Up to January of 2009, there were totally 48 products and almost 300 parameters based on suspension bead array techniques were approved by FDA to enter clinical diagnostic market in USA. At the moment, there are two SFDA-cleared diagnostic kits available in China, and they are both developed by Tellgen Life Science under trademark of TellgenplexTM.
Because of flexible, open-architecture design, this technique gradually become the spotlight in bioscience area. Massive data and publications were published on famous journal, such as Nature, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical and Diagnostic Laboratory Immunology, Journal of Clinical Microbiology, Genome Research, Journal of Proteome Research, Cancer et al.
