Approximately 15% of couples attempting their first pregnancy meet with failure. Data available over the past twenty years reveal that the male factor is at least partly responsible in about 50% of infertile couples. Microdeletions of the Y chromosome are a recently discovered cause of spermatogenetic failure resulting in male infertility.

TELLGEN PCR KIT For Detection of Y Chromosome Microdeletionsis a stabilized rapid method for the detection of specific regions occurring in YqAZF of the human Y chromosome. The assay is used to screening for the presence or absence of most common different sequence-tagged sites (STS) loci on the Y chromosome by applying innovative multiplex PCR techniques. This system covers all of the loci recommended by the European Academy of Andrology (EAA) and the European Quality Monitoring Network Group (EMQN).
